Number please
Senor Numbers Dummy,
The eBay auction for the C7AZ-6A892-B evidently is what the book says is correct for a 1966 352 truck as seen in the auction listed above:

Based on the date of my original post, after a year and a half, I still have not been able to find the one for my truck. My rocker covers seem to be 1965 vintage and were originally gold painted. They are definitely for a 352 motor and have a simple 1 1/4" round hole in the passenger side rocker arm cover. Unfortunately the retainer was so brittle it broke into pieces when I removed it for painting (glued back together for the picture):

The lugged retainer seems to be the correct one by the book, but obviously it ain't what I need!
Sure wish I could find a replacement, but still have no clue to the number. I actually went to a hardware store and bought a 1 1/4" grommet with a 3/4" hole that sorta works, but it is not quite thick enough to properly retain the PCV valve in an upright position.
If you have any other ideas on what this could be off of so I can find one, I would be obliged if you would let me know.
Thanks

Do you have pics from different angles?
The one at the following link looks really close to the you you show above.
: PCV Valve Grommet - 0.981 Inch ID - 1.863 Inch OD - 0.352 Inch Thickness by Dorman - Help - part# 42317
1967: Ford replaced the FE valve covers used on 1965/66 F100/350's & Passenger Cars with 1967 "Powered by Ford" valve covers.
The following grommet is correct if the original 1965/66 "plain jane" valve covers are present:
377394-S .. Valve Cover Grommet (holds 6A666 [smog valve] to 6582 [valve cover]) / 1 7/16" O.D. x 23/32" I.D. / Obsolete
Applications: 1965/66 F100/350 352 / 1965/66 Ford/Merc Passenger Cars 352/390/410/428.
B. F. WHITE MOTOR CO. in Stanton TX has 2 = 800-953-3321.
JST AUTOMOTIVE in Lebanon TN has 10 = 615-443-3086.
KLIMESH MOTOR SALES in Calmar IA has 12 = 563-562-3241.
POCAHONTAS LINCOLN/MERCURY in Pocahontas 1A has 12 = 712-335-3363.
GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 91 = 800-543-4959.
Part number source: 1957/68 Ford Truck & 1965/72 Ford Passenger Car Parts Catalogs.
I Have a box of the B , but in the box was an A, my last one , so i noticed on a post it looked like A and B are the same the B being in a box of 6, versus the A wrapped in a ford plastic bag. trying to confirm this , because i ordered 10 from green sales, came not in ford bag or box, no ford engineering number on top like the A had and had an ADP on it with the fomoco rectangular log that you have trouble reading it with a magnifing glass did have a two didgit number not the same on all and they have a green haze on them which is very hard to wash off. never know green sales to sell repops? also the B`s sent were almost twice as thick? any help would be appreciated.
The OSI (Obsolete-Supercede-Interchange) manuals or OSI Ultrafiche (try finding a reader for Ultrafiche these days!) lists thousands of parts that were replaced by a newer part number (Superceded), not replaced at all (Obsolete) or mix with a different part number (Interchange) but it rarely gives effective dates and never a quantity.
As you can see the earlier grommets I pictured came in a package of 5 - the parts counter would still sell you 1 from the package if that's all you wanted.
Green Sales does sell reproduction stuff in some rare cases but they have always told me up front so I can choose if I want that or not. Sometimes they offer NOS or reproduction at different costs, too.
