Well, I hope whatever they give me is right... I mentioned ORB (or some other similar acronym) and they brought some stuff out. We'll find out I guess...
And the HPX fitting are #5 ORB (1/2" straight cut threads).
How sure are you about the size? I don't wanna have the plugs outta the heads and oil going everywhere and find out they were the wrong size. And I in No way mean any disrespect, I just wanna make sure everything's right before I break into it.
A #5 ORB is 1/2-20. #4 ORB is 7/16-20. Just for the record, a #10 ORB is 7/8-14. The ones in the fuel bowl are #4 and the heads are #5.
Here is a chart, I used: http://fittingsandadapters.com/malortofempi.html

I am absolutely positive beyond the shadow of a doubt that the plugs in the head are a #5 ORB.
I thought it was "aircraft/naval"
I have heard lots of people call it army/navy but never by anyone who actually worked for the army or navy, lol.
No one at the shipyard ever called it by its name, either "a-n" fitting, or "hydraulic" fitting.
Just remember, most -an fittings are 37* and not the 45* like a brake line or copper fitting for gas (lpg, ng)
im in the same boat more time no money. how long did you make yours, did you use bent ends or just bend the hose?
I haven't made it yet... I'm still waiting for the fittings to come in. They should be in tomorrow. It's those #5 ORB's that I'm waiting for. It's such an odd size I guess. I should be getting the O-rings installed on my HPOP this weekend and that's when I'll put my HPx in. I'll be sure to post pictures and some info about it too. I'm currently piecing my FRx together so I'll be sure to post about that when it gets done. hink10 has got that regulator on the way so as soon as I get that, I'll try to get something cooking!
i got one made to day, made it 14.4 " long, well try to put it on tomorrow. where i told them i needed the #5 he said he had never seen one go on a truck just heavy equipment.
well take pics if it fits.
Take note 14.5 is really to long the distance from port to port is ~12. i made it fit but a little shorter would be better.
Alright! I take it you made yours more like the one in ITP... it arches down into the valley pan, right? After your ORB's, did you go with straight, 45*, or 90* fittings? Mine WAS gonna be more like the one in Riffraff... just straight across. It's 2" less and the only thing I can think I'll gain is just a hair less money's worth of hose. I was gonna have two 45's on either end so I'll have the least amount of hose in there. I just need to make sure it's a hair longer than I measured so I'll have enough length to arch the hose away from the turbo. Did you read Clay's PDF? Look in the earlier posts in this thread... that's where I finally understood how it all worked.
I got mine made today... I was just gonna put 45's on it and have it go straight across, but the guy had only 90's. I got to thinking... If I had 90's, it'd go down into the valley away from the turbo. So, I had him make it for me... we took a tape and bent the hose so that it was approx. 12.5" from the center of each fitting after the hose was bent. I'm not gonna post any pictures or measurements until I get it in... or at least try to. It should be this weekend, but I'm excited!
