Exclamation What is normal IPR %?

This is in relation to the problems I'm having in the thread here:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...y-problem.html

I just need to know what the percentage is that I should be seeing at idle and with a load. ICP seemed normal, IPR was at like 8% at idle and up into the high teens under a load.

Thanks

From reading that thread, it sounds an awful lot like a fuel problem. Either an obstruction in the fuel lines, excessive air being sucked in from somewhere, or a failing fuel pump.

From the pressures you posted when you datalogged the ICP, that sounds normal. And to answer your question, on a bone stock truck, ICP duty cycle is typically around 10-12% at idle, and at WOT can vary quite a bit depending on the health of the HPOP and how strong it is (there are some mechanical tolerances that make some stock HPOP's outperform others). If it's holding 2700 PSI in stock form, that's fine as long as the duty cycle is below 65% (on stock tuning). Add a chip, and that PSI number will most likely drop a bit for the simple fact that the HPOP can't keep up with the demand, and duty cycle will be at 65% (or higher with certain tuning changes).

If I were you, I would start looking at a fuel problem.
