Fuel Filter
My truck to me has not run good in a month. Well today I changed the fuel filter for the first time ( 8,000 miles ). It is not I tell you my imagination but the throttle responce is better today than when I bought it. Truck is awesome now, I can even here the AFE air filter sucking once again. I can't explain how much a filter improved my power. Someone tell me they seen this before!
My truck was just starved for fuel thats why I could here the injectors knocking so much.
Thanks for this board, who could I say all this to if not for you guys.

Started engine this Sunday morn just to here engine from a cold start. I am glad to say the cold start is so quiet compared to the old fuel filter start. I am just surprised at the difference a new filter makes. I am in love again with my truck.
Change that filter NOW, DON'T WAIT .

I use Stanadyne at every fillup, and so far haven't needed to add any while changing the fuel filter. It wouldn't hurt to do it, but it might not be necessary, especially for you guys with the newer trucks. A couple of diesel techs I've spoken to use the "fill up the fuel bowl with Stanadyne" trick when there's a definite driveability issue.

I run it in every tank in the winter, but didn't run it last summer. I may go ahead and run it every tank, but I'll probably run it every 4 or 5 tanks this coming summer. It does make a difference in the winter though. My truck is very flaky in the cold without using it, but it starts right up if I'm using the additive. I'm usually pretty hesitant to run additives on any vehicle I own, but Stanadyne has proved to be a good thing in my opinion. I talked to a couple of truckers at a truck stop one day and they said they used it with every tank.
