all horns are between the grille/upper valance panel area and the radiator core support bolted to the core support in a diagonal fashion. The should be holes already in the support for them.
The hood latch needs to be taken out to get it/them in as its a tight fit getting them inbetween the support and upper valance.
They are aimed downward as installed.
yes it should be..look on the core support and the area around there...a PO may have moved it to another spot...it will have a single blade plug in connector from the wiring harness in the headlight area...its the ONLY single blade plug in up there as well.
My truck was somewhat of a basket case. No wiring etc. The horn was in a milk crate, like many other parts. i just need to bolt it up,but I dont see the extra hole for its location ?
I just looked at mine...one of the holes used is a fender apron/core support hole...the one is almost directly below the large oblong hole above the fender apron mounting area. there will be at the least a dimple at this location and another approx. 2-3" diagonal from it. On mine , both holes were utilized by the boys in San Jose where it was built 45 years ago and havent moved since. The dimples I noticed on another core support I have inside here. The dimples are plainly felt too.
Thanks. I mounted the horn and relay today and ran some wires. i mounted it behind the core support, just left of the radiator.Looks alright and easy to get to.
