how could i tell where a motor come from ?truck or van and year just got one and its got a plug where my lift pump gos and theres no lobe on cam for pump.did'nt know if it would have a part # for years and what it came in like a gas motor
thanks john
Your saying there is a freeze plug where the lift pump should have been? means he went to a electric fuel system most likely. As far as figuring out where that engine came from, not sure. sorry.
It's a 99-03 7.3. If there is no lobe on the cam. At least I would think. Find the serial number on the engine to be sure. I think its above the oil filter somewhere.
valve covers were allready off an gone.i bought it for the trans and a rebuildable core.he said it come from the truck he was working on.they had got a 7.3 in a 1998 van Ambulance to install in the truck which they told me it had a lift pump.so i'm thinking they just used the heads from the Ambulance and i got the short block and the truck heads cause the plug dont look to have been removed.motors apart well heads and front cover and cam are removed.thanks for the help guys.i need all the help i can get.
so i may be parting this motor out most of the stuff left over is from a van.if anyone needs anything pm me
