Recommendations on replacing factory shocks/struts
I have a 98 ExpyEB that now is approaching 45K miles. It still has the original shocks and suspension (standard, no towing upgrades)
Realizing that this is a question that will prompt a wide range of opinions all the way from "should have replaced them right after you drove out of the showroom", to "replace them when the undercarriage drags on the highway"... what replacement schedule do folks recommend, and with what components.
The handling on the Expy has always been poor, as noted many times in this forum, but it seems to be getting worse lately.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 24-Feb-02 AT 10:45 PM (EST)]I have an 01 Xped. I replaced my shocks with Edelbrock IAS Performance Shocks. I've had them on for over a year now, and I think they're great!!... As far the the "when" to replace them comes in....mine were off right after i drove it out of the showroom, only for the reason that i have been able to improve the rides of all my ford vehicles up and to this point with after market suspension products.

New shocks are a defninte for this summer when I can do it myself. I took my Expy to Maine to NY this past weekend with 3 other full grown men aboard. It was too much wallow for me. I want something more positive and surefoot feeling...
We only had little overnight bags. Had we had a full compliment of luggage, it would have been worse.
