So my 02 7.3 Excursion has developed quite the oil leak as of late, and after alot of searching and reading it seems that the EBPV is the prime subject. The leak is definatly coming from the back of the valley under the pedistal which leads me to that. The truck has had a small leak for the last 30,000 miles but nothing like it is now. Question is, i just wanted to make sure that there is nothing else i should check before i dive into fixing it by getting a new pedistal without the EBVP, im all for eliminating the source of the problem. Thanks in advance guys.
Leak in the rear of the valley could be a few things.
1. Ebpv acuator rod at the pedestal
2. Pedestal o rings... either between turbo and pedestal or between pedestal and engine block
3. Turbo seals. Least likely but I've seen the oil housing seep where the bolts holding the exhaust housing on back out
Id say do the ebpv rebuild or delete it and replace the 4 pedestal o rings while there. Get ahold of clay he can set you up with everything you need
