I own a 1996 Ford F250 with the 7.3 diesel in it which I have lifted 6 inches. The problem is that I get the truck to 45mph and it shakes violently. I checked the angles of the track bar with the drag link and they are correct. My alignment is off but Goodyear said it wasnt the alignment that was causing the problem. Has anyone come across a problem like this before? I'm wondering if I need to install some sort of bars from the front axle to the frame but I'm not sure. Any help would be great, thanks.
death wobble.
common problem with lifted IFS trucks.
if the truck has been lifted for a while, the death wobble will crack the sector shaft of the steering box.
a set of steering dampers helps, but you really need to get the front end perfect to get rid of it.
I had the same problem with my truck, death wobble. Its a 97 F-250HD with a 4" lift and 35" tires. I ordered the lift without the steering stabilizers thinking it would be okay being a HD truck. I was wrong. I ended up ordering the dual steering stabilizers and the shake went away.
