electrical switch questions

electrical switch questions
1) on my '86 Bronco (351w, automatic) there is a switch of some sort attached to the side of the trans where the shifter connection comes out of the trans (see picture). Does anyone know what this switch does?
2) where the speedo cable comes out of the transfer case there is an electrical plug attached to the cable. Does anyone know what this switch does? (no picture, sorry).
3) on the top of the transfer case there is another switch that has a push-on type of connector. Any ideas on this one too?

Photo is (as Fordman400 said) is the neutral safety switch.
The wires next to the speedo cable are a type of vehicle speed sensor that the early EEC-IV computers used.
The wires in the t-case are the trigger switch for the 4WD indicator on the dashboard.
