Alright, I'm in search of a mass air conversion kit for my 1990 F-150. I have tried to contact Dunne-Rite Performance, but no one has returned my calls or e-mails. I have everything I need except the ECU and the harness. Anyone have any idea of where to find a kit? I'm not digging through the junkyards for salvage parts either. I want to buy from a dealer. Any help would be appreciated.
I saw that one listed on Ebay in my search for one of the old FRPP conversion kits there. It sells for about $100 more than Dunne-rite sells/sold theirs for and it only works for 19# injectors, which won't help me since I'm running 24# injectors. They do offer an upgrade for like $50 more, but that's still high.
I've seen the second link before too. But I don't like the idea of piece-milling something together, that and the company they used for their overlay harness for the injectors, is out of business.
I thought the Mustang conversion kits I found from Brothers and Granatelli Motorsports would work, until I realized they don't offer the overlay harness for the injectors since Mustangs were already Multi-port injected from the factory.
In an update, I called Dunne-Rite yet again today. Their voicemail has been changed to say that they have been out of the office for sometime due to a family emergency and should return by tomorrow. I left them yet another message, and I intend to call again tomrrow afternoon. But if anyone else has any other ideas, send them my way!
i got the truck overlay harness from RJM injection. nice harness. comes with all 8 injector wires, the MAF plug, and the other O2 sensor that you will need if your using a stang PCM.. you gotta repin your factory connector and insert the overlay harness wires into the connector as well, but it's not a very tough job.
RJM does make good harnesses. Ed (Struckby) over at NLOC also makes some good overlay harnesses. Your best bet is to source a harness or build your own, pop on a MAF PCM then invest in a Tweecer or Moates Quarterhorse to tune your combo. Of course this also means you need a wide band to tune it or take it a shop that specializes in custom tunes.
I've always wondered how AFM's PMS would work with a Mustang computer equipped F-series/Bronco combo? A little on the pricey side IMHO, but I live about 25 miles from their shop.
Well after 2 more phone calls and messages to Dunne-Rite with no results, I've decided to go another route. I'm now going with five-ology, which was the first link mentioned above by ManicMike. I was able to save some money off the price on the web by eleminating the K&N FIPK kit that' included in the package. I like his set-up better than any of the other options because it is a simple plug-n-play set-up, just like the original Ford Motorsport kit. No re-pinning the factory plug, plus I don't have to add a second O2 sensor in the exhaust. But thanks to all for your input, I definatly appreciated it!
