I have an 01 F-350 with a Bullydog Triple Dog programmer set on Extreme level. This morning I replaced my batteries, and when I went to drive the truck ran as if it was in stock setting. It also shifted very hard. I took out the programing and actually had to reprogram twice before it finally took the settings, and the shifting is now normal again. Also, now I have to depress the accelerator about 1 to 1 1/2 inches before I get a response and the power is just a little sluggish. Any idea of what may have caused this? Are you supposed to put the truck into stock before replacing batteries?
Thanks for any help,
Ron
Don't know anything about the bullydog, but I can't see how changing batteries should screw anything up. If you accidentally left your headlights on or something and it killed the batteries, are you supposed to have this much trouble after getting a jump start?
Have you sent an email to bullydog looking for suggestions?
Hi Chris,
I haven't emailed Bullydog, but I might call them tomorrow and see if they have any insight. It took a couple of tries to get the programmer set. Initial setting and the first try after replacing the batteries, even though it showed that the truck was programed, it ran pretty bad and shifted really hard. After the 2nd time of returning to stock and then reprogramming it finally took. I'm baffled.

I contacted Bullydog and this is what I found out. Since this is a shift on the fly, including "no power added" the PCM can revert back to stock setting, even though the programmer can show perfomance setting installed. The batteries were out of the truck for at least an hour. I took the old ones with me when I bought the new ones.Would have been a simple matter of shifting it back to what setting I wanted. On the hard shift from 2 to 3, can't tell you. It is shifting normal since I reset it. Maybe the PCM relearning, but no problem now.
