Injection pump fuel problems

My 1993 Ford F-350, 7.3 has a bad habit, right after start up. When I make my first left hand turn the engine seems to run out of fuel and shut off. This only happens when the engine is cold. Have installed a Holley electric fuel pump and this still happens. This does not happen if I make a right hand turn. No one can tell me what is going on. Any help would be appreciated, thanks, Tom.

Pre-Power Stroke Diesel (7.3L IDI & 6.9L) - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums This is a link to the page for your engine. There was a similar post there a few months ago but I can`t remember what the solution was.
One problem with these trucks was the fuel pickup pipe braking in the tank so that with fuel showing 1/4 full the pump struggled to get fuel. If it does it on both tanks then that is unlikely to be the problem.
However try posting on the above page for more help.
Good luck.
