07 trailer brake problem

07 trailer brake problem

I bought a trailer brake box for inside my truck not a factory one.I bought an adapter plug so I dont have to cut the wires.It wont work do I have the wrong plug adapter or do I have to go to the dealership to get some sort of an adapter for that?

You should have had some wires in your glove box for the trailer brake controller to plug into. Then the other end should connect to the wiring harness under the dash.

Was there no adaper?

No just my luck I bought the truck used and no plug in the glove box.what should I ask for?thanks Scott

I take it no integrated TBC either...so what you are looking for is the wiring harness that hooks up from your aftermarket controller into the ford wiring harness.

Not sure what part # you would call it but the parts folks should be able to find it fairly easy. If you have some time go to www.partsguyed.com, sponsor here and can ship it to you.
