Tire Pressure

What tire pressure is everyone running on their trucks? I was NOT running stock the pressure of 55/80psi and felt I had a nice ride - on and off highway. When I got my new tires the shop filled them to stock pressure and now notice a lot more sensitivity up front. Im sure it doesn't help that my steering box has a lot of play (which its had a lot of play prior to the new tires) and i replaced the balljoints at the same time...

anyhoo, a higher pressure will make the tires more succeptable to sensitivity right? I don't want to drop the pressure TOO much but Im not happy the way the truck is riding. It was a very stressful highway drive the other day. Eventually the steering box will be replaced or rebuild but for now i'm trying to eliminate as much as I can.

thanks!

I run 80-85 in the rear and 60-65 in the front. You were running less than 55? I don't think I'd run much less as its not good on the tire with all that diesel weight up there. Better get that steering box replaced as soon as you can. What size tire? Did you change brands too? What load rating are they, D or E? Is that different than the old ones?

stock replacements - load E - BFG AT/KO's 235/85-16? can't remember off hand the exact size but its whatever the stock size is; a direct replacement of what was there. Never had a problem with the old tires but they were some kind of no-name brand and who knows if there were even a "E" load tire.

Basically the front end feels like its riding on *****. Turns nicely, low tire noise, and well shocks could probably be replaced but something just ain't right on the highway anymore...

other than ball joints, tires and alignment nothing else has changed in the past month. I barely put any miles (i mean 100 miles would be pushing it) on the truck between the new tires/ball joints/alighment because its been off the road to have the work done.

thanks for the input!
