Fixing some interior issues...
Had a shop replace my TPS/wire the exhaust brake onto it on my F-350, went to pick it up and got an "uhhh well...well left a work light on the floor and kinda burnt the seat." Looks like I should be getting compenstated for it, I'm not really mad at the mechanic, I know sh@t happens sometimes, just kinda irks me cause I'm a neat freak with everything in my trucks.
To somebody just riding in the truck, your not really gonna notice anything, its all the way at the bottom where the seat curves in, and the floor is just slightly distortied, most people would live with it, but I was of course freaking out.
Anyways, I was already looking at swapping out to a 40/20/40 from my bench before this happened, anybody know where to find a good price on one? Preferably need the charcoal grey...or whatever the color is in the '01's. Thinking about just putting a full floor mat in the truck, one that goes across the tranny hump....any thoughts or ideas?
Thanks
Thanks for the link wallz. Found a few good ones on there, haven't checked into what shipping would be on any of them yet. Thinking I may want to roll with a seat cover for a while, save up cash and get a good 40/20/40.
Best way is to go to an upholstery shop and have them just replace the bad panel.
I have done this route --- but I got lucky and got a seat for
$100.
Carpeting
Best to lift off the entire original one - fix the rust underneath from the use of the felt that traps moisture.
Then, you can install a regular piece of carpet (I used outdoor) on top with the old one as a template.
After I fixed the rust in the foot well, I installed a heavy vapor barrier on top, then put the old mat with the moisture trapping felt back on top.
However, I dried it out thoroughly first.
Carpeting was installed on top of the rubber mat.
Made for a real thick sandwich especially after I added the additional insulation.
