Glenn, no worries, Its not a beauty contest, just needs to work. So are those unmodified SD pipes, like no cutting sections out of the middle or anything? They are just SD pipes and some modifying at the boots there with a bunch of clamps? Sorry for all the ?'s, im just trying to get all the info i can. Thanks a bunch for the pictures too!
James, ?'s are good, fire a way. Yes, those are unmodified SD pipes off of a 99. I tried to heat up one of them and bend it, impossible. I'm going to have to replace my orange boots to the intakes and have forgotten where I got the boots I needed. What sourse are you useing for boots?
Jame, Glenn,
JFYI (spel?) thouse boots dont work with the early 99 Y pipe. They has to be a reduction boots: 2 3/8" to 2".
Nice catch man. I didn't know they reduced. I thought he was still using the factory boots and those would be a replacement for that.

Pest007- This is JamesHajeks thread so I hope I am not outa line. If you are interested in getting rid of those 7.3 SD pipes and James will allow I would be interested in them. The 6.0 pipes I have come up way short. I am near San Diego and would pay for shipping and a fair price. Send me a PM if that sounds ok.
WHAT?? I am using the factory boots, what did I do, stretch them?? There orange and old, something is wrong here or maybe I did stretch them, I don't remember. Just an overkill on the clamps, lol. Thanks for those part numbers.

Haha, Glenn, thats what i thought when i looked at your pictures, thats why i posted the stock replacements. Thats funny if you did stretch them and not notice though!

you probably stretched the stock ones. they will stretch, they will just probably leak or blow off pretty easily. the E99 spyder is only useful to use b/c it mounts to our stock turbo. the bottoms is 3" though, not 2" so the E99's that had 2" plenums had reducer boots that went from 3"-2". i think that Dieselsite has a boot kit now that has all the boots for the E99's including the reducer boots. i got all the boots from them exept the reducers b/c when i got these they hadn't come out with the reducers yet.
James, on my passenger we had to make one modification in the middle of the pipe. you will see what has to happen when you lay a stock SD passenger side pipe in there. the stock SD driver side pipe is turned upside down from what it would be on the SD's, then it needs about 2" of extension and a little bit of angle to get it to line up.
Chase, you don't have to do anything to the pipe for it to work on the passenger side with those lines and junk. while you do have to make a small modification to get it to line up, there is no modding needed around the hoses and stuff. you will find that the driver side is the PITA. getting the pipe to clear both the A/C compressor and the intake sux. you also have to bend one A/C line a little bit so it doesn't rub. Here is a pic of how close the driver side pipe comes on my setup. some others have a little different intake pipe so they have a little more room.
Travis that looks nice. Did you cut the pass side pipe in the middle and "mig stretch it" with a straight piece? That's what I want to do.
I don't quite get what you meant by the upside down pipe on the drivers side though?
BTW my concerns in another thread regarding aluminum and tig...I'm a dope! I should've done the old magnet test before getiing all worked up over nothing HA.
Travis- I really like that color! And thanks for the info as always. You are a

Travis thanks for the pics and info. I'm toying with an SD front cover conversion which might help some with the clearance.
And FYI, the E99's (mine at least) did NOT have 3" outlets on the spyder... 2" into 2" plenums. If your spyder had 3" outlets on the bottom then it is some kind of mutt! Never seen an E99 with 3" outlets come to think of it.
