Hey guys, this is my situatation, I own a 1996 F-250 4.9L 2WD Automatic C6. I swapped the C6 out due to poor highway gas milage and slipage in drive. I replaced it with a 1993 E4OD transmission which was working fine in the other vehicle now the OD light is flashing and its not up shifting or down shifting automatically. During the change over i also changed EEC computer to one i got from a 1996 E-250 4.9L with E4OD. The transmission harness was also swapped out with the E4OD. Any suggestions as to what can be causing my symtoms of; OD light flashing, slamming into Reverse and Drive hard but just not shifting between gears automatically, only shifts manually between 1st and 2nd.
Thanks rla2005 for your prompt response but for some reason I think my tuck is missing some sort of relay or fuse. Will do and keep you up to date with the outcome. Meantime if anyone else has any suggestions that may help please forward.
Guys, after weeks of investigating as to what could be the problem for my E4OD transmission not shifting. I discovered that my 1996 F-250 inline 6 cyl power distribution box harness that plugs directly to the E4OD transmission harness does not have all the wiring that is required for the transmission. I have searched junk yards for a 1996 ford F series pickup with a inline 6 cyl and E4OD transmission and have come up empty handed only to find 1994 or older which has the EEC IV. So basically my question is can someone tell me, did Ford produce trucks with the 6 cyl E4OD EEC-V package back in 1995 or 96 ? Or can someone direct me as to where i can purchase the harness online.

Be faster and easier to simply add in the wires needed to the harness you have now for the trans to function.
Just get a section of harness from the bone yard that has any pins needed, easily added to existing connectors, taking as much wire with them as you can get without to much trouble so you have plenty of length to work with. If you have to add in wire from the auto parts.
Solder and then protect connections with heat shrink tubing and zip tie neatly in place and you'll be all set.
