E350 Rear Door Problems
Hello Group
I just bought a 98 E350 Chateau van to haul my family and tow my travel trailer and noticed the passenger rear door won't open. The lock will lock or unlock but when pulling the door latch to open it from the inside or outside the door won't open. I called the seller and he said its a Ford van problem and something about the heat in FL causes problems with the cable that unlatches the door. He said that I should go to the salvage yard and get the cable and latch and transplant it. Has anyone heard of this problem?

On my van it was the plastic casing on the latch cables that broke, but the entire cable must be replaced. I took it to a local body shop and had them replaced on the back door and side door. They do seem to be problematic on Ford vans.
