what is this sensor
Hi I know what and where the maf sensor is on my 99 v10, my question is what is the second sensor on the air tube Im installing a cold air intake and dont have a spot to mount that sensor, is it really needed.

Welcome to the forum. You're more likely to get an answer by visiting the forum for the V10 engine.
You could try just securing it somewhere safe not in the intake and see what happens. I have a Diesel with a sensor that kept falling out of the intake tube with no perceivable issues. I since fixed it, but????

Its an external IAT sensor and yes it is needed. Read the instructions, they should instruct you to drill a hole in the flat spot molded into the intake and install a gromet in the hole to seal the sensor. Thats at least what the instructions to my K&N FIPK II say. Some trucks have an external sensor some do not, my 04' does not.
