Well got a email from XDP that my DP will be on back order till May 17th. So I am going to wait (Free shipping) and my t-shirt should be here tomorrow (How will a t-shirt help my truck go faster?) But I am going to wait since its a deal. (I am saving 15 bucks on shipping) anyways I was wondering is there anything I can do ontop of my engine while I wait. I thought about taking the fuel bowl out. Is it hard? I as going to take it apart and clean it and shim the FPR. Anything else cheap worth doing? I appreciate the help guys.
Already did the 10K mod and I accidently lost it down in the valley. I had the 14.6K mod and it was the best. And I can solder but IDK if I could do the IDM mod lol to chicken to try it. Any other ideas folks? And any walk through on how to take the fuel bowl out to clean it?
I suggest new o rings if you do remove it. Along with the 30r9 rated short hoses to and from the pump. I think its just two bolts. I wanna say 15 mm but I may be wrong. Just remember to hook the IPR harness up on the re install.
Lol I know how to do it just lol my luck this is the one time my soldering would suck and bye bye goes my IDM. And I plan on putting the fuel bowl back on lol if I take it off. I may not take it off. Now I am taking stuff apart and cleaning it. If I take the intake manifolds off do I need to buy gaskets or just put RTV silicone on them?
Where do I put the new o-rings?... I will look at my haynes manual tonight then decide.
Put the new o rings where the old ones were. I think he was just saying to replace them like you would a used gasket when taking it off. Maybe you've had better luck but my haynes and chilton manuals have been no help at all with my truck with the exception of very basic things like brake job and a little bit when I did my wheel bearings. Good luck bud.
There is enough info, and I mainly use it to see what needs to be done. It gives me a good idea. Anyways what should I use if I take the intake manifolds off the sides of the heads? Someone said I need to use a special RTV.
