How often and what type?
I have an Expe 5.4/4r100 4x4 (see signiture) that I use to tow a travel trailer up and down hilly country roads to and from state parks. I probably drive it 10,000 miles a year half of which are towing the 7000 lb TT. My question is how often should I change the transmission fluid and what type should I use? Should I use the Ford recommend stuff, Amsoil, etc?<O

With normal usage the interval is 30k for a flush and filter. i'd say in your case it would be cheap insurance to do it more frequently. I think frequency is more important than brand of fluid, but again based on your situation maybe it would be worth looking at some of the more high end fluids.
