7.3 knocking sound
1997 f350 2wd 7.3 auto 86k miles
there's a slight knocking sound comming from the back of the motor on the drivers side runs good does not use any oil starts right up no smoke at all just a little bit of blow by never been chiped or ran hard any ideers? thanks

i dont think so i'm kinding thinking maybe one of the injectors is not firing

That could be also.

Is your 97 a cali truck?
If so, it could be injector crackle.

How about up pipe leak, mine is leaking and sounds like knocking. Do you smell any diesel?

I think it's more of a injector knock running some cleaner threw it first then going to change the top in oil
