I have a Super duty that is running on an 8 inch lift and 37 and I personally like the look of the truck better with the cab steps off but it leaves that ugly unfinished edge where the steps mount has anyone came up with a good way to cover up that edge or make it look better? Thanks for the help
all i know is that there's a company who makes a plastic cover for it. do a search on here to find it, sorry i cant help you any more but i do remember reading about it on here a few months ago
Mine are already the body color but it has all the holes from the bolts and have some other kinda odd holes in places on it. Hopefully I can find a white cover since its a white truck or maybe a small chrome cover to cover it up with.
Oh that part. I thought you meant the brackets that hold the step ups. Yeah, the pinch welds can be covered with just a little plastic weatherstripping (like found on sunroof trim).
Why not just raise the running boards/nerf bars to hide the pinch weld, clean up the profile and, most importantly, gain 3 1/2" of clearance? The link shows how easy it is.
I thought about getting those as well but, if water or salty winter off the road water gets down into them it is going to be one huge area for rust to start IMO.
I have the AmpResearch boards which shows the pinch welds when folded up. I don't see them as much with the truck being black, maybe you can try painting them?
There was a thread here where a guy plugged the holes and finish painted the pinch welds. A search might find it. Seemed at the time like an inexpensive but time consuming task.
