im getting my dad a set of 2000 xlt light for fathers day to replace his xl sealed beam lights (they suck), will im doing this i would like to go to 9007 bulb, where can i get some plug ends, or a kit? i cant find them at all.
your timing is off...im going to HID's id send you mine but i wont be doing the swap for a couple more weeks.... any parts house should have them...non the less here is a bump for ya..
he loves how bright mine are, and at the price that i payed $25 for them he will have to live with them. i will look to see if the pig tail ends in to a 9007.
Matt, don't convert to 9007.
The plastic plugs melt out. Seen it many times with high wattage bulbs.
Give me a minute and I will post some links that will work for your dad's truck that will give 100w high beams using H4 bulbs.
HID is good too, but expensive.
I think that this will be what you want to get for him.
Before they came out with all the molded headlights and everyone either had the 7" round or the 200mm rectangular headlights, one of the first things I would do for any of my cars is get a set like these.
Twice the visibility vs the old sealed beam style.
I think the H6054 (Sealed Beam) plug is on a pigtail from a 9007. About 12" back and behind the header panel should be the 9007 plug.
x2...when i swapped out my headlights, iwas wondering wtf, the plugs weren't even close...look on the back side of radiator support, and theres where the light harness plugs in...pull that and plug in the new lights...woo hoo...
