I was wondering what everyone is running for tire sizes? I have a 2.5" leveling kit and want to put bigger tires on it. Are 35's too big? How about 33's? Thanks for your help.....
this subject has been beat to death...resurected...beat into a pulp...and then recast again for some more fun.
35x12.5x17, 35x12.5x18, 35,12.5x20 all fit. the search will get you specifics and issues you'll run into with running a 35" tire...or anything 12.5" wide
go 315/70/17 (35/12.50/17) the only thing you have to do is trim the plastic under the bumper like 1/2 in on the corners and you will be happy. 33s are ok but you will wish you had paid the extra few dollars and got 35s. ground clearance only comes from big tires so 35s will go where 33s cant in mud, snow, ect

i was planning on getting some 295-70-18's (34.4 by 11.5) by bother beat me to the punch and bought them first. they rubbed bad enough for him to send them back.
idk what it was about but hes got a 2.5 leveling kit but his is an 2004.

wierd size
were they Mud Hawgs or Baja Claws by chance? or some other tire with extreme side lugs?
or different rims from stock?
if so, that is part of what I meant by checking to see which tires will work in what size...especially for a 12.5" wide tire. an extremely aggressive sidewall tire will not work in the widest sizes because those side lugs aren't accounted for when they measure the tread width...this makes the tire much wider
I know personally that a 35/12.5-18 Toyo M/T and Kumho M/T will fit perfectly without rubbing using a 2.5" leveling kit. If they did rub, it was only on full turn with a tire stuffed into the wheel-well.
and many many other guys have had the same experience
trail grapplers by nitto. they are a MT but no big lugs.
i asked him today and i forgot hes got 17 inch rims but he said he still got a tire that was 34in tall.
