New to Fourm
Hello, I just bought a 1995 F 350 7.3 2 wheel drive, I have a question, how do I find out what rear differential I have as far as gear ratio? Also the fuel selector switch doesn't work what proceedures do I go through to test and replace?
And one final question, the previous owner said he had a new clutch put in and it was 1 year old, the problem I have is that when it is shifted into reverse it grinds and sometimes pops out? Any sugestions?

This might give you the gear ratio:

If not, do a google search there is a math equation that goes along the lines of mark the tire, roll forward until it hits the ground so many times, then divide by the overall height of the tire, then..., then...=gear ratio.
Un-experience and un-educated in transmissions, but my first random guess is you need to replace the reverse synchronizer.
I think the fuel selector has been covered here, in the main section towards the upper right, select the search option and enter fuel switch then have fun reading through until you find some test procedures.

Hey, welcome to FTE! We have a pretty good community here and everybody is extremely helpful. As far as your questions, I dont know about the manual trans as i have an auto. And there were two different gear ratios for our trucks, 3.55 or 4.10's. What rpms are you seeing at 70-75 mph?

check your bushing on the master cylinder of the clutch, the plastic bushing is most likely gone and the rod and shaft are worn out, this will let the master not travel far enough. use this FORD Clutch Rod End, PERMANENT FIX, Powerstroke also : eBay Motors (item 260588587080 end time May-18-10 19:14:28 PDT) to fix it.
