Did ball joints. Truck wanders worse now. Steering issues also

No, the bushings wouldn't seat all the way and looking at things I don't see how they could. When I put the bushing on the ball joint stud without having it installed I couldn't get it to go down any farther than it is right now when it is installed. I talked to a friend that was the local dealerships head mechanic and is now the schools auto teacher and he told me that as long as the tabs on the bushing are down into the tabs on the knuckle it would be ok. He also told me that some of the people that actually do manage to force them down end up having some sort of problems, but I don't remember exactly what he said.
