I just purchased an 86 f250 non turbo with a 6.9 for $800. I am a newbie to diesel engines. is there a tune up procedure for the diesel engines?
when and why would you replace the injectors or the IP?
I am replacing the GP's as soon as the arrive as I have to keep her plugged in to start the next day.
I havent ran a vin check for actual mileage but the previous owners said the mileage on the odometer is actual which is showing 12201 which im sure is 112201 or 212201. the previous owners said the owner of truck since new rebuilt engine approx 5000 miles ago. The truck has spent all of its life on the island I live on hence low miles. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
kinda hitting on what festus said... i have an 87 with 195k the gp, ip, and injectors are all factory original. there are some exceptions, although, i bet it would probably run better if it were updated
