i just hooked up my boost gauge, and it does not move. i un hooked the line going to the map sensor and i dont feel anything, also no change in the way the engine runs with it disconnected. does this mean my map sensor is working fine or is the line plugged?
You won't make boost at idle. Blow the MAP line out with an air compressor to be sure (don't exceed whatever pressure your gauge is rated for) and take it for a spin.
Unplug the MAP electrical connector. If truck runs better then hose could be plugged. At idle there is little to no boost. Just remove the hose and blow through one end. Make sure that little hole where the hose connects at the engine is not plugged up too.
