Climate Control problem
I can recall reading some issues with Excursion climate control (Heater/AC with the Buttons),,,my mom is having an issue with her climate control,,,happens to be on her 01' Taurus,,,the thing just Blows heat,,,all the different heater doors work, defrost, vent, heat, all open and close when actuated,,,even the AC is cold (lines sweating nice and cold)but there is a problem,,only blows Hot air !!
There is a electircal box on the heater behind the gloce box says RCC on it,,,couple plugs with multi wires going into it,,,we are thinking this may be the culprit,,,there must be some Blend door that is not closing,,letting No air through the condenser,,,we can feel,,a warm side and a cold side of the heater box,,,and this RCC marked elect. box is attached right there!
I know it is Not an Excursion,,,But i know some Excursions have Climate Control,,,Maybe some one can Help ??,,,thanks,,,,,Mark

Quick search found there is a TSB for you - the bottom post shows the self test the RCC can run. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the post tdappleman,,,we did find it to be the RCC(sticker on the 3x6 electrical box)mounted to the heater box behind the GloveBox,,and towards the center of the car,,it was not sending current to the DC motor blend door(I guess),, Blows cold now when switched to AC.
I did find alot of Taurus heater/AC Blend doors break off and block the airflow,,,My 04' Explorer had the same problem(I called it the Fresh Air Door),,,man was it a cold ride in the winter,,,,Plus mice were getting inside through that brokeoff door !!!
Ford needs to re-think the Blend door axle's,,,thats what seems to Break off!!
