What would be a fair price to ask for my 1974 F-100? It has a 360 that runs good, C6 that will need to be rebuilt in a few months, 3.24 gears (i think), nice straight body, no rust or dents. It's my daily driver right now, but I'm trying to sell it. I advertised it locally for 2k several months back with no reponse. What do ya'll think? Thanks
How many miles are on the truck? What shape is the interior in? How's the paint? How original is the truck? These are factors that can really effect your asking price. What state do you live in?
My truck was hit Tuesday on the passanger side, it may be totaled out but what do you guys think this truck is worth for insurance purposes, since we are on the subject of truck value.
1978 F-100 custom with Ranger XLT Trim (see my pic if you wonder what it looks like before it was hit)
300 six with 222,000 miles, original engine and has not been re-built, daily driver with no problems. Burns/leaks about a quart every month (800-1000 miles)
Original 3 speed manual with a Hurst Indy floor shifter, works great by the way.
One noticeable rust spot (quarter sized) on drivers side above rear tire, both doors slightly rusted on inside bottom.
I think I'm about to be shall we say rooked, I'll see what the adjustor says. Its probabally driveable, but a huge dent in the passanger side bed, front passenger hood corner smoked as well as is grill and bumper, and both doors now scrape on the front panel when they are opened. Any input is appreciated. I have had this truck for 17 years (since a Jr in high school) and love it and it is the most reliable thing I have ever driven, never been stranded.
More info on the truck - It's showing 78k on the odometer right now. The interior is in good shape, I put carpet in, someone else had put a new steering wheel on, the seat sags a bit on drivers side. Not sure how much of the truck is original, I'll say 80+ percent. It's a long wheel base. And it's in Arkansas.
