Does anybody know which t case shifter was original for the 60 4x4 ? The OP's has the longer "J" shaped shifter, my 60 has a shorter, straight one. Which was correct for the Dana 24 ? ((I'm painting mine skymist blue BTW)

So I've taken a few more steps in the build!!! Finally!... I took some time off to work on my '01 F150 which now has 10" of lift on 37" tires

over the last three days I've worked the lower cowls near the bottom door hinges... They're not beautiful cuz I had to bend all the parts from flat stock and there was nothing on either on of the cabs to go off of so I had to wing it... but they're strong and functional...

as you can see ^^^ I also had to fab up a new cab brace on the drivers side

and fixed the nasty hole you can see a couple pics up ^

I'll clean up and skim the areas that are visible with some bondo! I'm not makin a show truck Haha just wanna drive it around

I also had to patch where the heater blows through the passenger side... I had a tough time with this cuz as I wire wheeled it more holes kept showin up!! so by the time I got to clean metal I just slaped this together to close it up

Then I was able to get the front end back together which was pretty exciting for me...

Tomorrow she gets shimmied around, straightened out and tightened down then a turn of the key!! after some new coolant and the fuel line gets connected

I'll post more as she gets done!! Thanks for checkin it out!

I am really interested in what actually was the original motor color. I have painted mine blue, but am going to have to overhaul it this winter and will repaint it. If the original color is black I will leave it blue. I had been told at one point that the original was more towards a puke yellow. I just ordered some valve cover decals and they are outlined in that yellow. I also need the original air cleaner for a two barrel carb on a 292.

nice looking truck, wish i had the time/money. do you know if it has the 456 gears? if it does you might want to think about taller tires if you are gonna buzz it down the interstate to work. when i got mine it had 235-85-16s on it and would only do about 50-55 mph. now i dont have that problem!

Pretty sure mine was the "puke yellow" cuz that's what was under all the grime... but some say it was black so I'm not sure if there was a cutt off on the colors or what...

Thunder snow, the plan is to put 35" tires on it cuz it does have 4.56's... But i dont plan on taking it down the highway... not now at least, seems dangerous Hahaha she's a little loose!

my first set were 36in tsl radials, and it made a world of difference, both ride and rpm, the current set is 38.5 boggers, bias ply, lost a little ride but i think it was a fair trade. people cant believe its a stock suspension. good luck! and for the guy wondering about the shifter, mine is short and straight.

1960 Ford motor original color.

I guess we will just have to keep looking to find out for sure. I have been told by other sources that the original color is the yellow, but finding the exact shade will be a challenge.
