Well after a couple of years of looking for a good deal on a set of used duals because I cannot spend 650+ bucks on a piece of pipe. Last month on Craigslist I found a set of T-304 MBRP Cool Duals Cat back off of a 6.0 with dual 5 double walled 5in tips for 400 bucks far cry from a thousand bucks LOL. Got it put on today for 50 bucks and I didn't pay much attention to it til I got here and I noticed that my driver side was a inch lower then the right. How exactly can you go about adjusting those brackets I know you can but I didn't find a write up anywhere yet. So for those with duals help me out please (hint hint big poppa).
BTW for those wondering it is worth every penny the sound that they make I think I went through more fuel with those then the first time with the first round with the DP tuner.
All I did was move the clamps either up or down the tailpipe to raise or lower them. I probably spent 2 hours trying to get mine to look even. Then I put an '09 bed on and it doesn't look even anymore. Looks like I have to do it again. One of the most annoying things I've had to do to my truck, but I really like the duals more than a single.
I'm more than happy to respond JD, you know that . First off a big congrats, you hit a homerun, they look great and SST-309 at that with tips, sweet deal period. As for the driverside pipe, mines a tad higher on the drivers side but not by much. Since yours is lower, where that bracket connects to the frame with that rubber piece, drill a hole just above the hole thats already in the metal bracket, have somebody lift the tailpipe up just enough to get even with the other one and see how much you need to drill under that stock hole in the bracket, that should get you where you want to be. If you don't have a second set of hands, take the tip off and use a jack to get it where you want to be and see where to drill. For some reason this might be a manufacturing misalignment with those brackets but we shall see if more people complain about it, good luck and post up the fix if you can.. Hey David, you correct, just after the muffler theres a Y, both pipes branch off from there individually over the rear and go their seperate ways.
Thanks guys sorry for not getting back earlier. Well I cannot raise the drivers side anymore I now see why they don't recommend it for a gooseneck hitch set up it is right on my B&W hitch. I need to lower the passenger side some how maybe take a piece of rubber and make my own drop down piece because I don't think I can go any lower with the current bracket... any suggestions guys? Mike thanks for the big write up now if we can only go down .
Norwood the only true dual set up I have ever seen on a turbo diesel was a triple turbo dodge or an IDI if it goes through a turbo thats the only exhaust exit.
David it takes time to find these deals and watching craigs list heavily.
