Keep your injectors, air filter clean. At 114k it wouldn't "hurt" to swap plugs and plug wires.

i plan to do the plugs really soon but im gonna wait a bit because i just got it 2 weeks ago. air filter is clean i did that right after i got it home the day i picked it up. i put a shot of lucas in the gas last night. anything else you can think of that would be an issue? like i said theres times where it starts great and theres times where it does this

Get your injectors cleaned... gas additives are very ineffective. Lots of car/truck owners overlook that.

It could be your fuel system sensors need to be re-set or corrected... but I doubt it.

You ARE using 87 octane fuel, correct?

I am sure it is something minor. Look at the silly, cheap, obvious things first.

That is the part that peaked my interest, priming the fuel system more than once. Dirty fuel filter? weak fuel pump?

I agree with the fuel pressure suggestions. change the fuel filter. check fuel pressure. I think it has an iacv i would pull that and clean it...check for codes also even if the lite is off......

iacv=idle air control valve.......it is attache to the TB. I dont think it is the issue but it is a good maintenance to remove and clean out the chanber. ( if you are in to woodworking at all it looks like a 4" long Biscuit joiner).

it could be the injectors but I am going to guess that is not the issue. If it was my truck i would do a tunup, including plugs, pcv, airfilter, clean maf, clean iacv, change fuel filte, add some injector cleaner. . if the issue is still there I would suspect the fuel delivery system. I would do a presure test, check for codes...... if you csn buy a cheap code reader for $20 bucks because sometimes the codes are pending and then go away before the light comes on. but if you check especially when it is acting up you might catch a code........
