With Triton and most other gas engines I've worked on, I've found that Lucas doesn't seem to do much. Two things I can assure you do something is: Berryman's B12 Fuel Injector and Carb Cleaner and Chevron's Techron additive. If you use a strong, full does of either, you'll almost instantaneously notice a difference. Let it idle for a min, then drive it like you stole it....
i actually just got the truck 2 weeks ago and im waiting on the bank to finish up a few things..thats why i havent done a complete tuneup yet but trust me i plan to...previous owner said he hadn't done spark plugs in it so im thinking this could be one of the issues. but he did change the fuel pump..ive been using lucas in the fuel too
Do the tune up if it is still there test the fuel pressure.......if you plan on SEAFOAMING it makes sure you do it before you change the plugs........

ill run this tank lower and throw some B12 in it.. ive used B12 in my 86 f150 and it seemed to work well..the guy at the local advance auto suggested it right away with my 86..can you use seafoam in these trucks? ive heard that in my dads 04 5.4 it will mess with the throttle body???

I would not usee sefaoam if you are at all worried about it. I agree with the poster about techron. I think techron is the best. i have used Lucas and don't notice anything.....if you have a chevron or texaco around use there gas for a while it has techron in it

i dont have either one of those petro stops around here. ive used seafoam in some of my older gasser tractors around the farm but ive heard some horror stories about useing it in a 5.4 i think ill just try the techron
I have been using Seafoam periodically in my gas tank and by sucking it through my PCV and/or Brake Booster for the last 100k on my truck. I now have 215k.
If you are going to use it do this:
In your engine oil - change oil very shortly after
In your gas tank - change fuel filter a once you finish that tank of gas as it may loosen up things in your tank which may get clogged in the filter
In your PCV system - do when engine is warm, suck it through the system until your engine stalls, let sit for 15 mins, then start engine and enjoy the smoke show - your neighbours will hate you. You can change your plugs after this as well if you want.

I agree with everything you said except for the stalling part. I don't believe you want it to stall because that can cause some issue potentially. i put mine in a spray bottle and attach the brake booster hose to the tip of the bottle i can control how much goes in by spraying...
