LOVE IT !!!! 4.6 OR 5.4 ???? i see ya got an ifs under it too ........ how hard was it to come up with mounts for the mod ??????? i wanna do something like that so bad after driving the turd bird around , but with a warmed up 4.6 , in something , but too much goin' on right now ...... keep the pic's and post's coming !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the blue house, just kidding. Looks like a great mockup. Its wierd seeing a truck that old and with that new motor and ifs under it. Great job, keep going.
How are those marlboro special blends? They are on sale around here.
yea my camera realy sucks and when i try to use the flash it gets all streaky, ill try to get some better shots a lil later with my wifes camera.
its a 4.6 and acutally the mounts were simple, the crown vic front suspension already has the mounts built in so once thats in and centerd up the motor drops right in, now i had to move my axle centerline up 3/4 of an inch to squeeze the motor infront of the firewall because im not much of a body man and really didnt want to have to cut any sheetmetal but it looks good with the fenders on, can hardly tell.
next is the trans mount and finding the driveline angle to get ready to drop in the 8.8
the IFS was actually pretty easy, we had it done in a weekend, on the 57-60 the frame kicks up a lil in the back so i had to level out the bottom of the frame with some 3/8s flat bar and then i boxed it all up from the cab forward, but on a straight frame its just a matter of getting your measurments right and drilling 6 holes. the hub to hub is about 3 inches wider than stock but with the later model mustang bullet wheels im going to run the offset will sit just right.
theres a whole rightup on this swap if you wana check it out, its alot of reading but this thread is what made up my mind on what im doing now. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...o-67-f100.html
