Excellent job Keith!
Great history there.
I have an old book titled "American Fire Engines since 1900". I must say that Chicago probably had the most distinctive fire apparatus of all the big cities. The black over red really set them apart. Some of the rooflines on the trucks were simply amazing as well; making those huge trucks looks like sporty coupes....just amazing. And the captains cars....wow
Congrats on giving very calm and professional interview
Bobby

Thanks everyone for the nice comments ... I really appreciate it.
cbass .. about your question ...Wonder if the Dept.'s performing salvage also put these outfit out of business? It didn't play a part in the disbanding of the Patrol. The fire department, I believe didn't even due salvage work until after the Patrol shut down. At one point they were going to merge the two organizations but due to pensions and senority issues, etc it never happened. <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
