'56 Front springs?

I have a Mustang ll front under my '56 F100. The springs that came with the kit are too weak and I wonder how to determine which springs to order to get the front up a little bit? Anyone help? The truck has a 5.4 Triton engine with a 5 speed manual trans. A/C and P/S as well. Right now the lower "A" frames are going up hill to the outside a little, probably should be level at least. I bought this crossmember kit at least 5 years ago and the company has gone out of business so I can't call on them. Just now getting my truck on the road. The truck seems quite peppy with the 5.4 engine. Thanks for looking, Buford.

Sure,

This question seems to come up alot.

The folks who sell those seem to think that the 325-350# springs are made for trucks as well as cars. I guess if you really lighten up the front (small block engine, aluminum heads, manifold, etc) they will work ok. But they tend to drop the truck down a few more inches in addition to the 4-5 inches the new front end drops it.

YO probably want to call whoever sold you the front end or a spring shop and tell them you need 425-450# springs. I think I have a link ot a previous discussion:

Hope those help!

Will genuine Ford springs work in the aftermarket Mustang II front end? (Which is basically the same as the Pinto).

1974/78 Mustang II: There are different load rate coil springs. It makes a difference with the 2.3L with/without A/C, ditto for the V6, ditto for the 302 in 1975/78's.

Ford offered load rates between 1370 - 1702 lbs.

Fords load rate value and the individual compression rate value of the springs provided by aftermarket sellers is a different type of value mathmatically.

I ordered some 450# springs from CPP last night...got them for 38.00 the pair. They indicate that the 450# springs are for pickups, etc. Will try that and see what happens. Thanks for all the input, Buford.
