very off topic question
A very good friend of mine inheritted his uncles 1971 Torino.
we know very little about the car,it hasn't been on the road since 1995 but is in great shape.Gt gril and dash insert,9 inch rear 351 2V.
I have the vin,axle,and trim codes if anyone could point me in the right direction to find out if the car is a gt or not I would apreciate it.

A = Atlanta GA Assembly Plant
35 = Torino GT 2 door Hardtop (Fastback) / Body Style 63F
H = 351 2V / Ford used H for both the 351W (6 valve cover bolts per side) & 351C 2V (8 valve cover bolt holes per side).
212586 = Numerical Sequence of Assembly (specific serial number).
6 = 3.00-1 / This could be a 9" or an 8" both look very similar / With a C4, it's prolly an 8"
YW = Torino GT: White all Vinyl with Black Appointments.
W = C4 Cruise-O-Matic
17 = Washington DC Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the Torino from.
I will have a better look to see if it is 8" or 9",I never really looked to hard.
He plans on just cleaning the car up for this summer to drive it and enjoy it,the paint has a few marks but will clean up nice.I will get a few pictures and send them off to you.
Thanks again Bill greatly appreciated.
