rear end issues

Is there any cause of these bearing issues? not changing oil often enough? wrong type of oil?
What oil are most of you out there using? i changed mine out with Royal purple. was told you don't have to add the friction modifer when using that. is that true or do i still need to add some?

Most people seem to have good luck with RP, but a buddy of mine has burned up 2 burned up the bearings in 2 differentials twice, in the same 2 company trucks, and has seen the this oil break down in the final drives of his mini excavator. Maybe his bad luck, but I won't use it. I am currently using Mobil 1 full syn 75w-140, but with no additives since I have an Eaton True Trac.
