Spark plug removal

New to site as far as being registered, read a lot of post bout spark plug removal on these 5.4l 3v. I know this is an old post but I did mine yesterday, after reading this post I bought truck used but I figured plugs prob hadn't been done at 85k. I got 5 out no problem 3 broke, buyer be where people taking trucks to dealers because the easy plugs had been replaced the firewall plugs and the ones in front on the firewall plugs were original. I asked my brother bout this who worked as mechanic for years said yeah unreliable shops where guys get paid by hour. Runs great after plugs has power again thanks guys.

What do you do if just the threads come off? Thats what 4 of mine did. I can grab the top of the plug and pull it out with the electrode but there is a cup down in there on top of the electrode. The lisle tool wont do me any good will it. If I look down in the hole I see the metal part that was just under the threads on the plug.

Broke plug

Well the piece in the motor the ground strap is what the tool removes I'm gonna post a pic and see if it helps. Here is one of the best links I found on how the tool works http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=XoDH_RBrzf8

5.4 plugs

Went to dealer yesterday to have plugs changed in my 2005 f 150 with 135,000 miles. Cost only 288.00 parts and labor. None broke, would have been 25.00 each. I called all around Nashville Tn. and the Ford dealer in Gallatin Tn. was the best deal. They do this all the time. They will tell you they do not want to rip people off.
