2001 v-10 crew cab value

Getting ready to sell my 2001 crew cab 4x4 lariat with a V-10. What is good asking price for this truck? It has 130k on it and loaded with all options. It is super clean and cared for. Just need to know were the market is and will this be a easy sell for me?

Have you looked at kbb.com, or nadaguides.com? The standard online vehicle valuation sites.

I took mine recently thinking of using it as a trade in on another Ford, at a Ford dealer. It's a 2003, v10, 6speed manual, 4x4. Only has 11,000 miles. Its an XL but I put nice wheels on it, Nitto tires, a leveling kit, nerf steps, sound system etc. I was offerd $2,400 as a trade in. They told me in this economy with rising gas prices that the v10 is a relic and good luck selling it. I suppose I will just keep it.

For your truck, around $8,000.

Is that $8000 on trade or retail? I like it better than $2400!

I was saying $8,000 if you were gonna try to sell it, not trade.

Wow did you ask them if they were going to give you kiss afterward? I took mine in about 3 years ago just for kicks while looking at newer one. They offered me like $7800. I told them to pound sand my truck was in better condition than the one on the lot and walked out the door. The look on the managers face was priceless.

Take your time and sell it yourself. V10's are getting very hard to find. Be sure to list it in Autotrader.

I think that is the best way is to take my time and sell it my self. I have been looking at 2006 and newer V-10's and yes they hard to come bye. I will burn it before I let it go for $2400 bucks!

Sad to say, but a stick, with XL trim, no matter what goodies you put in it, will probably never EVER sell to anyone but a commercial outfit that needs something CHEAP.

My XLT might have a better chance of getting a decent trade-in, but I'm not holding my breath. I plan on keeping that thing until it rusts into the ground.

The only thing I would ever consider is going to a crew-cab for more room for the kids, but I'm better off with what I have now overall.

I would list it on Craigslist in a few of the larger metro areas, as well as some of the Farm/Ranch communities. It is amazing the coverage one Craigslist ad will reach. I listed my 2008 F-550 Regency Conversion diesel, crew cab here in the Dallas area. Most of my calls came from Ohio, OK, VA, and Canada. Matter of fact it has a new home in Canada right now, sold within a week or so.

As for the manual, there are those who love the manual transmission. Which is no longer an option of a new F-250s. I think the biggest problem to overcome will be the mention of the V-10. It received so much negitive talk from the dealers pushing the PSD, and the spark plug problem, then throw in the mileage, that the only people who want the V-10 are those of us who are educated on the abilities of the V-10. As for the XL model, it is a no frills bottom of the line edition. I love mine, but then I have always been a KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) principal kind of guy.

It all depends on the market. I can tell you that your truck would sell for $10,000 minimum here in the Northwest. I searched for over a year to find one for less than that. Now a buddy wants one like mine. I have turned him on to two of them (but with Automatic Trans) and they have both sold before he could get to them.

BTW, I would put it on Craigslist, that is where I got mine and I have also sold/bought about 5 vehicles that way.

I know. The funny thing to me though was that this dealer had one almost identical on the lot he was asking 14,995 for. It was an XL, 4X4, stick. Only real difference was that his had carpet, mine doesnt. Plus the fact his was an 04 with 107,000 miles on it. I know they make a profit but really. I would probably get more than 2400 out of it if I took it to an auction. Not really worried about selling it. I will keep it, it's all the same to me. I don't feel so bad. I live not too far away from a Hendrick Chevy, Hummer dealership. They can't give Hummers away right now. (I mean the truck kind guys). They have new ones marked as low as 16,000 from 30,000+ and still can't sell them. It's just the climate we are in now days.

Yeah, for the first 3 years I had my truck I never paid more than $2.00 a gallon for gas. Quite a shocker when it closed in on $4 a gallon. Kept the truck, just drove it less...... It takes fuel to move a load, and money to buy the fuel, no way around that!

Hang10,
Just curious, after making this post. How many members have sent you a PM with offers to purchase your truck?
I mean WOW!! A 2003 4x4 with only 11,000 and a manual to boot. Sounds like a sweet truck to me.

Where are you finding the H3t trucks at such a discount? I could use one of those at such a price to chase cattle down on the ranch...LOL!!
