if you got the cobra parts it should bolt on if your mn12 is a disc car . if you got drums you gotta drill new holes in the knuckle if i remember rightly . try joining tccoa . johnny langton put me onto it when i bought my first mn12 last year . the cobra is the same rear suspension just a little narrower and uses 31 spline half shafts and gear sets . when / if you do join do an exhaustive search on what you want too know as it has been asked a katrillion times and some of 'em get tired of answering the same ol' thing .the info for anything mn12 related is there .
oh yeah if your just driving it on the streets the discs really don't offer much of an advantage other than some bling . i try to sneak to the strip when work / family schedule allows and there's no advantage there either . just a bigger cash outlay . got a bunch of parts to do the conversion , just cause i got to gun ho about it and now they're gathering dust . don't want the added weight the bigger discs bring . nope i'm not getting rid of the stuff either , never know what i might need them for . oh yeah mine's slow too 15.10 @ 83 mph . just in case you wanted to know . it weighs with a full tank , me , and the stuff in it about 3960 pds. has a 3.08 gear and a pretty much stock 95 weak sister 4.6 npi .
I already looked into it the caliper has to be relocated, the MN12 location is setup for smaller 11" rotors and these are 12.88" rotors. Like wise the rotor is off-set alil more. I did extensive searching to make sure. I figured it would just bolt right in considering the 99 Cobra hubs are a direct replacement for the 89 - 97 MN-12 hubs. But only way I could use the oem caliper mounting location is to run the smaller T-bird rotor with the 99 cobra caliper, which would cost me more in the end than just buying the wilwood rear brake kit for a 99 cobra.
As far as not helping I know the discs wont help over drums but being a IRS they were all disc brakes and I dont have the pieces anyways. This isnt for a Tbird or a production car like that. This is for one of the factory five kits that I am in the process of getting.
