another 352 carb question.

ive got a 1966 352. the gas is not staying in the bowl of the carb. i have replace the filter the pump got plenty of gas in the tank. the gas is getting all the way to the carb but wont stay in the bowl. its getting very frustrating please help. thanks

If you mean that the bowl is going dry after sitting for some while, gas can only be going a few places. Past a faulty power valve or accelerator pump. One other unlikely situation would be a cracked bowl casting. Time for a thorough cleaning and carb kit. The last one I bought at AZ was only $14. Dont loose the parts taken out. Coat cover gasket with a light dressing of white grease to aid in future removal without gasket sticking and breaking.

Behind the accelerator pump diaphram (C4AZ9B559A/Motorcraft CM463) is the accelerator pump's check valve (C4AZ9576A/Motorcraft CM825).

The check valve has a tiny tit on it that fits into a hole in the carb body. The tit disintigrates, gas then flows out of the hole, past the accelerator pump, past its outer cover and out the carb.
