I'm having some trouble starting my truck and I'm wondering if it could be a fuel injection problem...requiring a "clean-up" or some sort of parts. Essentially, my 96 Explorer starts, but I have to turn the key further, hold it longer, and let it turnover several times, whereas it used to immediately start up right away.
FYI: my "check engine" light has been randomly going on and off for about the last 10 months (it will stay on for a week, then go off for a week, etc.) I had the oxygen sensors replaced about 18 months ago ($400!!), and I'm wondering if this problem could be related to another (hopefully LESS expensive sensor).
Just for the record...the transmission went on my Explorer at 78K. They couldn't even rebuild it but had to replace it--$2500! What is the deal???
