New Member Negrey
Let's give our newest member Negrey a warm welcome. He has been around the site for a few years and has decided to take the plunge and join the chapter.
He has some dents one of which he would like to get going. I may have found my new parts guy.
Where abouts in BC are you?
Welcome to the chapter.

Hey,
Yeah I've been around here for a while, just doing my research and reading up on trucks. I have a 1977 F-250 4x4, regular cab, longbox, 351M, Fantastic shape. And the project right now is a 1978 F-250 4x4, Reg Cab, Longbox, 400, In the scope of 32 year old trucks it's in good shape but it needs some work, runs and drives, needs a D/S floorboard, a little door work where the mirrors mount. But what I have yet to find for it are a good box and grille! At least eveyone here is local-ish haha, I'm from the Castlegar btw, and then theres a couple parts trucks... lol
Thanks Guys!

Yeah, like when I went and looked at it I measured the wheelbase, distance from the front of the box, to the first bolt, first to second bolt, and second bolt to end of bed, and then I measured the frame width. So when I get a chance to go over to the shop I'll measure up what my '78 is, the gas tank door is in the right spot, like it all should work, if the measurements are the same. It was just getting dark when I was looking at it, I recall it had a "Trailer Special" badge on the tailgate, I just did a bit of research here and I believe, all regular cab long boxes should be the same wheelbase unless they are a SCS or CS and have the Spare tire or is it a toolbox, compartment. I appreciate you going to look for a grille for me!
Thanks,
Negrey

I know of a fellow that has some older Ford stuff. He says he has one with a decent box. Just need to get out to look. I have been working at the wreckers paying off my 66, he deals in mainly older Ford p/u stuff. He has a few decent cabs that probably wouldn't require a lot of work to make decent.

Yeah if it happens to be a 78/79 with a good box, good grille, and mirrors, I'm really interested! A lot of the wreckers here are getting rid of their old stuff, which is sad. I was at a local wrecker looking for a grille and other stuff a while ago, and the guy was like what year? oh yeah we just crushed one... needless to say I wasn't very happy!

The fellow that owns the place likes to sell complete stuff more than parts. Many of the trucks he has will run. Most of them are in pretty tough shape but can be restored. If it's an older Ford chances are it's not going to get squished any time soon.
He has mostly dents, maybe 5 bumps and a few early to mid 80's stuff. He has a few into the 60's as well.
