They have little clips on each side that you squeeze and pull down. They can be a bitch to get out but DON"T force them. The clips are on each of the long sides of the connector in the middle at the bottom closest to the wires. Take a strong light and look carefully. Hopefully someone has a good picture they can pointer the two clips per connector.
Considering what a pain the the butt it is to remove the ficm and the not so well thought out location in general I am surprised that somebody hasnt come up with a relocation kit yet.

I just reinstalled mine yesterday and had the same problem. Once I got the connector aligned with the socket I put the wooden handle of a rubber mallet under the connector and was then able to push on the top of the FICM until it clicked into place. Worked well for all three connections.
