Hey Gents,
Has anyone had any problems with there AC? The truck is back in a 4th time. During the hottest parts of the day it will just blow cool not cold. when you accelerate up the AC blows cold, but when the RPM drops down to 1500 it goes back to cool. When you put your hand up to the vents you can feel it switch back. At night and early morning it blows cold.
So far the dealer has replaced the compressor shaft seals where they found a leak, oriface tube that was clogged with sediment, fan clutch assembly, and recharged with freon
2006 F350 PSD, CC, SRW. It also has the electric AC controls. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are your condenser (in front of the IC) fins OK and not bent over?
Is your serpentine belt old? If I remember correcty the belt does not make much contact with the AC compressor pulley. A worn strecthed slick belt could be the problem.
This is a long shot but with regard to the electronic controls make sure the vacuum pump is operating.
Not to sure about the condenser fins are bent, as for the serpentine belt the truck has only 34,000 so im not sure if that would be the cause. The vacume leak could be possible cause. I will be going by the dealership tomm to check the progress. They wanted to keep the truck overnight to replicate the condition. when I dropped it off it was raining and cool out.
2 weeks ago had to have the ac sys rebuilt on my 04 F250. The manifold line from the compressor, the one that is wrapped in insulation had rusted very badly. The rust had gotten into the system and trashed the compressor. Replaced the compressor, reciever dryer manifold and orfice tube. $800 later all works as it should. The rust was under the insulation so not readily evident.
Were in the So. Florida area so the salt is not to bad here.
They're going to keep the truck for another day, so far everything checks out. They think it may be a flapper thats staying open alowing outside air to mix with cold air causing it to blow cool. Thay also want to check up in the fan housing to see if some foreign Matter got stuck up in there. and last but not least the compressor motor.
So we shall see what we come up with.
