Intake Question

im getting ready to install a new Edlebrock Performer 390 intake and a 1407 carb on my 68 F150, 360. currently there is a 5/8 heater hose running through a plate located under the carb... what's that?

also, any pointers would be appreciated...

The original carburetor spacer plate has a tube on it that the heater hose connects to.

This is designed to warm the mixture that passes thru the spacer plate.

Not in your area. In colder climates, it's nice to have since it help fight carb ice. If you run an open air cleaner in the winter, you'll have carb ice problems. You need to run an air cleaner with a hot air diverter to prevent the problem fully.
